Gear/Radio
“The great improvement of the radio over the telephone is that it may be turned off without offending the speaker.”
-Richard Armour
Radio has been a hobby of mine for a long time. Although people have moved on to Internet and other type of digital media, radio is still a viable way to get intel. Storms, Infrastructure issues, etc… I would recommend a small portable radio with the following features:
- AM/FM/SW and weather alert.
- Use standard AA or AAA batteries (always keep extras)
- Have a headphone jack
- Have an antenna jack
As far as two-way radio go, I would say CB would be the way to go. Keeping things simple and cheap. One for the car/truck, one for the home stead.
